Concept:

The inspiration for my design is the traditional Icelandic decorative leaf cut bread. The cut leaf bread patterns are deemed to be amongst a few exclusively Icelandic patterns.á The oldest known reference to cut leaf bread is from 1736.

While designing the garments using these cut leaf patterns I have combined age old tradition with modern design with the outcome no less pleasing when worked in fabric than cut from a finely rolled flour dough.á
